Women’s Ice Hockey Falls 4-1 to Suffolk

PAWTUCKET, RI – A pair of third-period goals by Suffolk University squashed any hopes of a comeback by the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team. The Wildcats lost a 4-1 decision to the Rams on Friday.

Of Note:
Suffolk got on the board just 4:32 into the first period. Sydney Tietz stole the puck in the JWU zone and centered it to Emily Johnston who scored on a wrist shot.

Johnson & Wales pulled even midway through the second period when Cassie Wakefield took the puck behind the net and found Kathryn Mason who scored her third goal of the year.

The Rams answered just five minutes later as Shana Cote scored on a two-on-one breakaway with the eventual game-winning goal.

Shots were barely in the Rams' favor, 22-20, but Suffolk netminder Kristen Caporusso stopped 19 of the 20 shots she faced.

JWU was 0-for-4 on the power play while the Rams went 1-of-5
