Women’s Ice Hockey Falls in Overtime at Salem State

SALEM, Mass.  – The Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team made a valiant comeback in the third period at Salem State, only to lose in overtime. The Wildcats dropped a 4-3 non-conference decision to the Vikings on Tuesday.

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales found itself down 2-0 after the first period. Kathy Ensor got the Wildcats on the board when she scored her third goal in three games with 5:33 left in the second period.

The Vikings scored seven minutes into the third period to push the margin back to two goals, but the Wildcats answered with two goals in two minutes. Tamara Bowden set up Kathryn Mason's power play goal at the 15:46 mark. Kaitlin Irvine knotted the game just two minutes later to force overtime.

Salem State ended the game just a minute into overtime when Catherine Salvetti scored the game-winner.

Johnson & Wales has the weekend off and gets back into CHC action on February 16 at SUNY Canton.
