PAWTUCKET, RI – A goal by visiting Becker College with 7:30 remaining in the third period dashed the hopes of the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team of getting its first NCAA victory. The Hawks prevailed 2-1 in the Colonial Hockey Conference match up on Friday at Lynch Arena.
The loss dropped the Wildcats' record to 0-7, 0-5 in the CHC. Becker, also in its first year of NCAA play, got its first victory to improve to 1-5, 1-4 in the CHC.

The Wildcats had a two-skater advantage late in the game and got three shots off, but couldn't force overtime.
