Women's Hockey Drops 6-0 Decision At Stevenson

REISTERSTOWN, Md. – For 40 minutes, the Johnson & Wales University women's ice hockey team held its own with Stevenson University. However, the Mustangs scored two goals in the first two minutes of the third period to break the game open as they went on to defeat the Wildcats, 6-0, on Saturday.

Johnson & Wales is still searching for its first win of the season as it dropped to 0-6 and 0-4 in the Colonial Hockey Conference. Stevenson remained perfect at 6-0 and 4-0 in the conference.

For the first time this season, the Wildcats eclipsed 10 shots in back-to-back games as they recorded a season-high 12 shots on goal. A night after she scored the school's first goal as an NCAA program, left winger Alexis Harle (Calgary, Albert) led JWU with five shots. Caitlin Sweet (Calgary, Alberta) was next with three shots. Goalkeeper Kami Weiner (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) continues to turn back shots as she made 56 saves.

Stevenson got its first goal at the 12:32 mark of the first period then scored another with 40 seconds left in the period. The Mustangs just 18 seconds into the third period then added another 1:29 later

The Wildcats are back at home on November 20 when they take on Becker at 6:05 p.m. then play host to Wesleyan at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be played at Lynch Arena in Pawtucket.
