Amanda Lupino has been hired as the new assistant women's golf coach at Johnson & Wales University as announced by head coach Lou Parente.
Lupino is very familiar with the university, having earned her MBA from Johnson & Wales in 2013 with a concentration in hospitality.
Lupino was a collegiate golfer at Sacred Heart University where she majored in sports management with a minor in sociology. Named team captain for the 2010-1 season, she was also a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Council. Lupino assisted with recruiting, organizing practices and tournaments, coordinating community service events and in-season recruiting visits.=
Prior to graduating college, Lupino worked as a golf shop manager for three years at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown, RI. There she oversaw scheduling and coordinating small member outings, tournament preparation, dealt with monthly inventories and payroll for 100 caddies.
In 2013, Lupino served as a coordinator and managed club relations and events for the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund. There, she was responsible for the execution of all Ouimet events, club relations programs and various club communications. Lupino also managed the invitation process, tournament site prep, scoring, food, prizes and day of staffing for the three-day Ouimet Memorial Golf Tournament.
Prior to joining the JWU coaching staff, the Cranston native worked as a national sales manager at Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau.
