JWU Women’s Golf Starts Williams Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University women's golf team opened the Williams Invitational on Saturday. The Wildcats fired a 415 on day one at the Taconic Golf Course.

Johnson & Wales is in 15th place following the opening 18 holes, just 10 strokes back of Bates College. The host Ephs are on top of the leaderboard with a 306.

Posting the lowest score on day one was freshman Alexis Anastos (Lock Haven, Pa.) with a 94. Juniors Megan LeBlanc (Madison, Conn.) and Hannah Hall (Farmington, Utah) each fired a 104.  Sophomore Caroline Mettler (Bluffton, Ind.) carded a 113 and senior Megan Janis (Commack, N.Y.) rounded out the day-one scores with a 124.

The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday.
