Women’s Basketball Drops 78-46 Decision at Brown

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team traveled across town Tuesday night to take on Division I opponent Brown University. The Bears got out to a fast start as they defeated the Wildcats, 78-46.

Records:
Brown: 5-4
Johnson & Wales:  1-3

Statistical Leaders:
Britney Gallagher (JWU): 12 Points, 6 Rebounds
Ally Mishol (JWU): 12 Points, 9 Rebounds
Tiondra Hands (JWU): 9 Points, 6 Assists

Of Note:
Johnson & Wales hung with the Bears early in the first quarter. Brown took control of the opening stanza with a 12-2 run. The Bears outscored the Wildcats 14-3 in the second quarter to take a 40-16 lead into the half.

Brown had the advantage inside with a 38-8 margin for points in the paint which led to 40.7 percent shooting (33-81), compared to 27.1 (16-59) by the Wildcats. The Bears also had a 61-33 rebounding advantage.

Leading the Wildcats was Britney Gallagher and Ally Mishol with a team-high 12 points. Mishol just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
