Camels Too Much for Women’s Basketball

NEW LONDON, Conn. — The offense of Connecticut College was too much for the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team to keep up with on Tuesday. The Wildcats dropped a 78-43 decision to the Camels.

Records:
Connecticut College: 3-0
Johnson & Wales: 1-2

Dede Stevenson: 10 points
Tiondra Hands: 9 points, 3 assists 

Of Note:
The Wildcats hung in with the Camels for the opening 10 minutes, but the hosts pulled away in the second quarter by outscoring JWU 27-15. Johnson & Wales was limited to six points in the third quarter. 

The hosts shot 50 percent while limiting JWU to 22.7 percent from the floor. The Wildcats were outrebounded, 55-26, but did force the Camels into 20 turnovers.

Freshman Dede Stevenson was the only Wildcat in double figures with 10 points. Gabrielle Nicastri snagged a game-high six rebounds.
