Sailing Finishes Ninth At Commonwealth Invitational

The sailing team notched a ninth place finish at the Commonwealth Invitational, hosted by Massachusetts Maritime this weekend.  There were a total of 12 races in the regatta with the Wildcats accumulating 206 team points.  Roger Williams took home the team title with 66 points for the weekend.

The Johnson & Wales "B" boat with freshman Conall Finn (Quincy, Mass.) and sophomore Heather Ireland (New Milford, Conn.) again had a solid showing on Sunday, notching a sixth-place finish in the third race of the day while finishing the weekend with 91 points.  The Wildcats "A" boat of graduate student Windsor Williams (Rockport, Maine) and junior Max Hammon (Guilford, Conn.) also had a strong weekend at the regatta, finishing in fifth place in the fourth race of the day en route to nine top-10 finishes over the weekend.

The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday, September 27th when they travel to Boston, Mass., for the Midweek Tech Invitational, starting at 4:00 p.m.
