PROVIDENCE, RI – After nearly a three-week layoff, the Johnson & Wales University men's volleyball team was back on the court Saturday. The Wildcats took a 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-12) decision off Pine Manor then topped Southern Vermont 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-8).

Johnson & Wales hit over .350 in both matches, starting the day with a .358 rate against the Gators then a .459 hitting percentage versus the Mountaineers. JWU limited PMC and SVC to -.167 and -.055 hitting, respectively.
Posting over 33 percent of the Wildcats' kills in the opener was sophomore Josh Pitzer. The North Kingstown, RI, native had a career-high 10 kills as well as three blocks. Setter Endel Sanchez dished out 26 assists and Pete Medici notched eight digs.
The offense was more diverse against Southern Vermont with three players notching five or more kills. Kanila Chang was nearly perfect with seven kills on eight swings. He added a team-best seven digs.
Johnson & Wales gets back into GNAC action next Saturday, taking on Mount Ida and Lasell.
