The men's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision against Emmanuel in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on the road on Thursday evening.
Johnson & Wales took a 25-21 win in the first game and went up 2-0 after a 26-24 victory in the second game. The host Saints took a 25-20 win in game three and a 25-7 win in the fourth game before closing out the victory with a 15-9 win in the fifth and deciding game.
Johnson & Wales was led by junior Josh Baker (North Kingstown, R.I.) with 20 kills and seven digs while freshman John Bosch (West Palm Beach, Fla.) had 44 set assists and three digs in the setback. Sophomore Shawn Kennedy (West Barnstable, Mass.) had eight kills and nine digs for the Wildcats.
Ashanti Jackson paced Emmanuel with 19 kills, three digs and three blocks while Nick Updike had 41 set assists, seven digs and four kills in the victory for the Saints.
Johnson & Wales is now 1-4 for the season and 0-3 in the GNAC while Emmanuel improves to 3-2 overall and 3-0. The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, February 11th when they travel to the MIT Invitational, starting at 4:00 p.m..
