Johnson & Wales Mens Volleyball Sweeps Elms, 3-0
Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales University
men's volleyball team swept Elms by a score of 3-0 in a
non-conference contest at the Harborside Recreation Center on
Tuesday evening. Johnson & Wales posted a 30-18 victory in game
one and took the 2-0 lead with a 30-22 game two win. The Wildcats
then closed out the evening with a 30-22 win in game three.
Junior Eric Minnich (Concord, Calif.) led the way
for Johnson & Wales with 12 kills, five digs and five blocks
while sophomore Mark Garlock (East Greenwich,
R.I.) added 14 kills, eight digs and two blocks for the
Wildcats. Sophomore Robert Slough (Buffalo, N.Y.)
added 33 set assists and four kills in the victory.
Sophomore Mike Kleckner (Bethlehem, Pa.) recorded
nine kills and six digs for Elms. Junior Mike Ryan (Ludlow,
Mass.) had 24 set assists and five digs in the setback for
the Blazers
With the victory Johnson & Wales is now 6-14 for the year
while Elms falls to 4-18. The Wildcats will return to action on
Thursday, March 18th when they travel to MIT for a non-conference
contest at 7:00 p.m.
