Wildcat Men’s Tennis Loses 6-2 at Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The close matches didn't break in favor of the Johnson & Wales University men's tennis team on Thursday. The Wildcats lost a 6-2 contest at Western New England.

The loss dropped Johnson & Wales to 4-2 while the Bears improved to 5-7

Jack Hopkins (Hamilton, Mass.) and Tyler Dupee (Middletown, NY) came through with an 8-3 victory at number three doubles. JWU lost a close 8-5 decision at number two.

Taylor Farmer (Carmel, Ind.) got JWU its second point when he won 6-0, 6-4 over Michael Tran at number four singles. Dupee and Ryan Schiele (Lusby, Md.) pushed their matches to a third set, but the Bears came out on top both times.

The Wildcats travel across town to Rhode Island College on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. match.
