JWU Mens Tennis Falls To Bridgewater State, 8-1
Providence, R.I. – The Johnson & Wales men's
tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision against Bridgewater State in a
non-conference contest at the Moses Brown Courts on Monday
afternoon.
Senior Gino
Richter (Woodbury, N.Y.) picked up the lone victory
for Johnson & Wales, posting a 6-1, 3-6, 10-6 win at No. 3
singles. BSC's Matthew Mailhot recorded a pair of victories,
winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and teaming with Mike Zagame for
an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
With the loss Johnson & Wales falls to 3-8 while Bridgewater
State improves to 5-4 for the season. The Wildcats will return to
action on Thursday, April 22nd when they travel to Emerson for the
semifinals of the GNAC Championship, starting at 3:30 p.m.
