Krakosky’s First Goal Propels Wildcats over Blue Jays, 2-1

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team earned a gritty win in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference on Wednesday when they nipped a solid University of Saint Joseph (CT) club, 2-1.   The Blue Jays hit the mark in the second minute and looked to defend the rest of the way, but the Wildcats peppered the goal and got two through late in the contest.

Of Note:

Saint Joseph jumped out with a quick goal in the second minute by Daniel Castro.  From there, the Blue Jays were on defense the rest of the match, hoping the single goal would stand up.

JWU's Yohann Assouramou tallied his first goal of the season with an equalizer in the 69th minute, assisted by Jack Ellis and Erik Schneider.

Ten minutes after Assouramou's goal, Braeden Krakosky put the Wildcats ahead with his unassisted strike.  It's the first goal of his collegiate career.

Wildcats aggressively outshot the Blue Jays, 17-4.
