NEWPORT, RI – In a back and forth affair, the Johnson & Wale University men's soccer team wrangled a 3-3 draw from a stout Salve Regina side on Wednesday. Both teams had opportunities throughout the match and it was an equalizing goal in the 87th minute that erased the Wildcats' advantage and secured the tie.

Salve Regina's Owen Stevenson and JWU's Teagan Drake got the scoring started in the first half with goals in the 19th and 29th minute, respectively.
Riley McNicholas put the Wildcats ahead in the 47th minute, only to be equalized by SRU's Donald Igo in the 75th minute.
Johnson & Wales regained the lead in the 79th minute when JP Rioux fired a ball past the keeper. However, once again the Seahawks tied the match when Igo scored his second goal in the 87th minute.
The shot advantage went to Salve Regina as they peppered JWU keeper Adam Cassidy, 19-8, but he made a season-high nine saves.
The Wildcats travel to Norwich on Saturday for a key Great Northeast Athletic Conference showdown at 3:30 pm.
