Lasell Stops JWU Men’s Lacrosse 13-5

PROVIDENCE, RI – Slow starts to each half was too much for the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team to overcome on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost a 13-5 decision to Lasell.

Of Note:
JWU got the first goal of the game on Patrick Evers' first collegiate goal at the 13:24 mark, but Lasell responded by outscoring the Wildcats 5-1 the rest of the first quarter. Lasell took a 7-3 lead into the half.

The Lasers scored the first three goals of the second half to build an eight-goal lead the Wildcats couldn't overcome. Lasell outscored JWU 10-3 in the first and third quarters.

Eric Russo scored a pair of goals and assisted on two more scores. Brad Kretz also scored twice.

Eight-different Lasell players found the back of the net, led by three from Mike Susi. Austin Tomasetti had two goals and three assists while Andrew Fidalgo chipped in two goals. Lasell won 11 of 20 faceoffs and forced Johnson & Wales into 20 turnovers. The Lasers also had 45 shots, compared to 33 by the hosts.
