Men’s Lacrosse Defeated 14-9 at Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. - A scoreless third quarter was the difference in Saturday's contest between the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team and Wheaton College. That's he Lyons outscored the Wildcats 5-0 in the third on their way to  a 14-9 decision. 


Wheaton: 1-0

Johnson & Wales: 1-2


Statistical Leaders:

Max Stone: 3 goals

Sam Sears: 2 goals

Ben Farrell: 2 goals


Of Note:

The first half was very even with Johnson & Wales taking a 6-4 lead at the 2:32 mark of the second quarter on an Owen Macca goal. JWU led 6-4 at the intermission. 


Wheaton kept the Wildcats off the board the entire third quarter and scored nine unanswered goals to take a 13-6 lead. Max Stone scored twice as the Wildcats tried to rally late in the fourth quarter. 


Three Wildcats had two or more goals, led by Stone's three scores. Wheaton won 23 of 27 faceoffs and had a 28-19 advantage in ground balls.
