PROVIDENCE, RI – Junior Ben Farrell scored with 15 seconds left in the first overtime period to lift the Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team to victory on Wednesday. The Wildcats defeated Curry, 12-11, for their first win of the year.

Attacker Eric Russo – who had a game-high seven points - scored with 3:58 left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 11-11. Both teams had several chances to score the go-ahead goal, but neither broke through during regulation.
Curry had two shots miss the mark in overtime then the Wildcats came down the field with 30 seconds remaining. Farrell stormed through the CC defense and launched a shot that found the back of the net for the game-winner.
It was the Wildcats' first overtime win since April 13, 2016, when they beat Mount Ida, 10-9.
Erik Lindaas scored with 27 seconds left in the second quarter to put JWU up 5-4 at the half. Curry started the second half with four unanswered goals and took a 10-6 lead 37 seconds into the fourth quarter on the second of Tom Cashin's three goals.
Four different Wildcats scored during a 4-0 run in the fourth quarter that got JWU back in the game.
JWU goalie Bradley Morris made a career-high 24 saves as JWU was outshot 60-38. The Colonels won 23 of 27 faceoffs.
Johnson & Wales goes on the road Saturday to take on Wheaton at 1 p.m.
