Men’s Ice Hockey Skates Past WNEU 4-3

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team won for the second time in a row on Sunday. The Wildcats traveled to former CCC foe Western New England and came away with an exciting 4-3 victory.

Western New England: 1-8-0, 0-6, CCC
Johnson & Wales: 2-4-2, 0-3-1 NEHC

Goalkeepers:
WNE: Baylee Johns (L, 1-2) 7 saves
JWU: Tyler Ellor (W, 2-0) 36 saves

Of Note:
JWU came out aggressive and scored three goals in the first period.  Bryan Colburn got the scoring started six minutes into the contest with his first collegiate goal. 

Jake Glod found the back of the net midway through the period and Connor Bechtel scored his team-leading fourth goal on the power play 58 seconds before the intermission.

Corey Kennedy scored one of his two goals five minutes into the second period, but the Wildcats responded with the eventual game-winner.

Senior Chad Guderian scored for the first time this season at the 11:34 mark with the eventual game-winner. It's the third game-winning goal of his career.

The Wildcats were outshot, 39-31, but Tyler Ellor came up with 36 saves to get his second-straight victory.
