GORHAM, Maine – The Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team fell behind early to Southern Maine, but managed to salvage a tie. The Wildcats scored in the second and third period for the 2-2 draw on Friday.

The game was Johnson & Wales' first as a member of the New England Hockey Conference.
Down 2-1, JWU's Connor Bechtel started the comeback when he scored in the 12th minute of the second period.
Both teams had chances late in the third period and overtime, but neither could cash in and the tie stood.
The Wildcats held the shot edge, 27-23.
Wildcats are right back at it Saturday when they travel to New England College for a 4 pm match.
