Men’s Hockey Falls 6-3 at Suffolk in Season Finale

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team jumped out to a second-period lead on Suffolk, but couldn't sustain it. The Wildcats lost a 6-3 decision to the Rams on Saturday.

With the loss, JWU will miss the Commonwealth Coast Conference playoffs and end the year at 5-19-1 overall, 3-14-1 in the CCC. Suffolk improved to 6-10-2 in the league, 9-12-3 overall.

Ryan Sete got the Wildcats on the board just 1:30 into the second period when he scored on the power play. Nicholas Pezza followed with a goal of his own just one minute later. At the 8:28 mark Connor Bechtel made it a three-goal lead with another power play goal.

Unfortunately, Suffolk responded with power play, shorthanded and regular strength goals to pull even before the second-period intermission. The Rams added three more scores in the third period to get the victory.

Head coach James LaCour only loses a pair of senior on this year's team in Luke Veitch and Alan Boozer.
