PAWTUCKET, RI – For the second night in a row, one period was the undoing of the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team. The Wildcats gave up four second-period goals to seventh-ranked Salve Regina in a 7-2 loss to the Seahawks
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 5-18, 3-13 in the CCC while the Seahawks improved to 13-2-2 in the conference, 17-4-2 overall.
Johnson & Wales struck for the first goal of the night. With just a minute left in the first period, freshman Max Dorfman stole the puck in the neutral zone, had his first shot stopped but put back the rebound for JWU's first shorthanded goal of the year.
The Wildcats didn't do themselves any favors by drawing 10 penalties. Salve Regina took advantage of two power play opportunities during the four-goal second period.
Johnson & Wales plays its final home game of the regular season on Thursday when it hosts Suffolk at 6:55 p.m.
