Men’s Ice Hockey Drops 3-1 Contest at SUNY Cortland

CORTLAND, NY – Penalties were the demise of the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team on Saturday. SUNY Cortland took advantage of the power play to defeat the Wildcats, 3-1.

Johnson & Wales: 5-12

Of Note:
The Red Dragons scored with less than four minutes left in the opening frame then got a power-play goal five minutes into the second period.

Johnson & Wales scored just before the intermission to get within a goal. Jordan Stone's (Parker, Colo.) shot from the point was redirected by Zachary England (Redbank, NJ) into the net.

Unfortunately, SUNY Cortland added another power play goal just 1:51 into the third period. The Wildcats were whistled for eight penalties while the Red Dragons only committed two infractions. Cortland had a 42-16 advantage in shots.
