PAWTUCKET, RI – For 50 minutes, the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team did a good job of keeping Wentworth off the scoreboard. The Leopards broke the game open with five goals in the final 10 minutes to defeat the Wildcats, 6-2 on Thursday.

The Leopards opened the scoring just 87 seconds into the contest. Emile Levesque got the puck to Paul Filippone and he put it into the wide-open net on the left side.
Johnson & Wales got the equalizer with four minutes left in the first period. Chad Guderian (Coppell, Texas) fired a wrist shot from the point to beat Ryan Hubbard.
Another wrist shot from the left side gave JWU the lead with just 59 seconds left in the period. Junior Zachary England (Redbank, N.J) scored his first goal of the year to put JWU up 2-1.
Neither team scored in the second period, then Wentworth opened the floodgates in the final 10 minutes. Connor Beaudet got the rebound of his own missed shot and tied the game halfway through the period. Four minutes later on the power play, Jake Hallisey scored the eventual game-winner when he knocked home a loose puck in front of the net.
The two teams are back on the ice Saturday when the Wildcats travel to the Leopards for a 2 p.m. faceoff.
