PAWTUCKET, RI – Trying to work its way into the postseason, the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team has been generating more offense of late. The Wildcats scored four second-period goals on their way to an 8-0 victory over Becker on Thursday night.

Johnson & Wales: 7-9-2, 3-7-1 CCC
BC: Tyler Stepke - 20 saves, 6 goals

Johnson & Wales wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with two goals in the first five minutes. Ben Brouillard (Somerset, Mass.) set up both scores, feeding Victor Carlsson (Calmar, Sweden) just 2:22 into the game. Less than two minutes later he found Fran Mackin (Philadelphia, Pa.) to put JWU up 2-0.
Carlsson picked up his second point when he helped set up Nicholas Gray's tally (Stafford, Va.) at the 12:08 mark as JWU went into the first intermission up 3-0. Gray recorded his second multi-goal game of the year when he found the back of the net at the 9:03 mark of the second stanza. Carlson picked up two more assists for the first four-point game of his career.
Johnson & Wales had a 34-17 advantage in shots with Wildcats goaltender Joey Ballmer (Kalamazoo, Mich.) turning away every shot he faced for his second shutout of the season. JWU was 2-of-4 on the power play while the Hawks didn't convert any of their three chances with the extra man.
The Wildcats are on the road Saturday when they travel to Wentworth. The puck drops at 3 p.m.
