FREDONIA, NY --- For two periods, the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team skated even with Fredonia State. Unfortunately, the Blue Devils scored four times in the final period to come away with a 4-0 decision on Saturday.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 5-7-2 on the year. Fredonia improved to 5-7-2.
The hosts scored the first goal at the 4:38 mark of the third period when Jimmy Morgan found the back of the net. Fredonia added two more goals in the next four minutes to take a 3-0 lead.
Johnson & Wales had 33 shots with Fran Mackin (Philadelphia, Pa.) recording six and Nicholas Gray (Stafford, VA.) adding five. Goalie Joey Ballmer (Kalamazoo, Mich.) stopped 39 of the 42 shots he face.
The Wildcats get back into CCC action on Thursday when they play host to Suffolk at 7 p.m. The game will be played at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in downtown Providence.
