JWU Loses to Corsairs in Manchester PAL Cup Title Game

HOOKSETT, NH – Every time the Johnson & Wales University men's ice hockey team got close, UMass Dartmouth managed to pull ahead. The Wildcats dropped a 4-3 decision to the Corsairs in the championship game of the Manchester PAL Cup, hosted by Southern New Hampshire.

Of Note:
Ben Brouillard (Somerset, Mass.) got JWU on the board when he tied the game at the 14:50 mark of the first period. Unfortunately, the Corsairs took the lead back eight seconds later on Casey Shea's second goal of the game.

UMass Dartmouth added another goal at the 7:39 point of the second period, but the Wildcats answered. Luke Veitch (Lewis Center, Ohio) tallied a goal at the 16:59 mark off the assists from Fran Mackin (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Ryan Sete (Jackson, Mich.).

The Corsairs recorded another goal just 31 seconds into the third period. JWU got within one when Connor Bates (Laconia, NH) struck for a power play goal three minutes later. Unfortunately, the Wildcats couldn't pull even, despite outshooting UMD 48-34.
