ECAC Northeast All-Conference Team boasts five Wildcats
Commissioner of the ECAC Rudy Keeling announced the 2010-11 ECAC Northeast All-Conference teams on Thursday February 24th for the 2010-11 season as voted on by the coaches of the league each year.
Wildcats junior Jeremiah Ketts (Foristell, Mo.) earned Player of the Year honors after his conference leading 23 goals (15 in ECAC Northeast play) brought the Wildcats to a third place finish. Kett's 48 points in the regular season and 27 in conference play were also a conference best. The Missouri native also boasted a hefty 16 power play points which topped the conference for the season and his 14 power play goals ranked him 1st nationally with a 0.54 power play goals per game. Ketts was named First Team All-Conference along with his Player of the Year accolades.
Sophomore goalie Matt Cooper (Perrysburg, Ohio) was voted ECAC Northeast Goalie of the Year thanks to his impressive .911 save percentage and 2.70 goals against average in conference play. Cooper boasted a 9-3-0 record vs. conference opponents on the season and was the only sophomore named to the First Team All-Conference team.
Defenseman Domenic Recchia (Sterling Heights, Mich.) rounds out the First Team All-Conference selections after an impressive season by the junior captain. Recchia led all conference defensemen in overall points scored with 31, 19 of which came in conference games. Recchia's 19 points in conference play were good for 6th in the conference as well.
Sophomore Jason Pietrasiak (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was named to the Second Team All-ECAC Northeast as his 12 goals in conference play placed him 3rd in the Northeast. His 29 points on 17 goals and 12 assists were 11th best in the league. Sophomore Trevor Jewell (Belgrade, Mont.) was tabbed an Honorable Mention after recording 22 points on the year, 11 in conference games.
