Jeremiah Ketts Honored As Reebok/AHCA All-American
Junior hockey standout Jeremiah Ketts (Foristell, Mo.) was named a 2011 Division III Reebok/American Hockey Coaches Association Second Team All-American, announced by the organization on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Championship.
He is the first player in program history to be recognized by the AHCA and is just the second JWU hockey player to receive All-American honors as former standout Matt McGilvray was named a USCHO.com All-American in 2008. He is also the only player from the ECAC Northeast to be recognized by the AHCA this season.
Ketts, the ECAC Northeast Player of the Year, led the team and the conference in scoring with 25 goals and 25 assists for 50 points on the season. He also tallied 14 power play goals which ranked him first nationally with a 0.54 power play goals per game average.
Ketts was a finalist for the Sid Watson Award, honoring the best player in the NCAA Division III ranks and the Joe Concannon Award which is given to the top American born hockey player in New England.
Johnson & Wales finished the 2010-11 season with a 14-12-1 overall mark and a 10-4-0 record in the ECAC Northeast while reaching the semifinals of the conference tournament.
