Wildcats Tied for Seventh On Day One of NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Back on the course after winning the GNAC Championship, the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team opened the NEIGA Championship on Sunday at the Captain's Course. JWU fired an opening round 318 to tie for seventh.

The Wildcats are even with Saint Joseph's (ME). Williams is in first place with a 310.

Posting the low JWU score of the day was sophomore Claudio Soukamneuth with a 78 to tie for 17th. One stroke back in a tie for 26th was Alex Parente.

Ryan Malloy was the next Wildcat in with an opening 80. Finishing day one a stroke behind Malloy was Mac Patch with an 81. Christian Maselli rounded out the JWU scorers with a 90.

The championship concludes Monday with the final 18 holes.
