Men’s Golf Places Ninth at Hampton Inn Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team wrapped up its first 36-hole tournament of the spring on Saturday. The Wildcats fired a 640 (318-322) to take ninth at the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club.

Trinity won the event with a 606, defeating Babson by 14 strokes.

Carding rounds of 78 and 79 to take 23rd at 157 was sophomore Christian Maselli.  Freshmen Claudio Soukamneuth (83-78) and Ryan Malloy (75-86) both shot 161. Alex Parente was two-strokes back with rounds of 82 and 81. Rounding out the JWU scores was Adam Ely at 168 (84-84). Hunter DiLorenzo competed as an individual, shooting a 161 (78-83).

Johnson & Wales will serve as the host for next week's Wildcat Spring Invitational, April 21-22, at Cranston Country Club.
