WARWICK, RI – Mother Nature delayed the start of the spring season for the Johnson & Wales University men's golf team. The Wildcats tied for fourth place at the Rhode Island College Spring Invitational, held at the Valley Country Club.
The tournament was shortened to 18 holes. Johnson & Wales fired a score of 317 to tie Salem State. The host Anchormen won the event with a score of 305.
Freshman Claudio Soukamneuth posted the lowest JWU round of the day with a 77 to finish eighth. Sophomore Alex Parente was next with a 78 while Ryan Malloy was a shot back. Sophomore Christian Maselli and rookie Adam Ely each carded an 83.
Johnson & Wales continues the spring campaign next week at the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth.
