Men’s Golf Earns Spot on GCAA All-Academic List

NORMAN, Okla. – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team knows how to succeed on and off the course. The Wildcats were honored for their work in the classroom with a spot on the Golf Coaches Association of America's All-Academic Team list.

In order to be eligible for the award, the team must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher. The golf team had the second-highest GPA amongst JWU men's sports with a 3.24. Six student-athletes had a 3.13 gpa or higher, led by senior Alan Ferrara (Pawtucket, R.I.) at 3.72.

Johnson & Wales has earned GCAA recognition in five out of the last six seasons. For the second year in a row, Johnson & Wales was the only GNAC team to make the list. The Wildcats were also one of only two teams from the New England region to qualify.

The 2017-18 season kicks off September 16 with the Duke Nelson Invitational.
