Golf Tied For Fourth At Wildcat Spring Invitational

Six teams are within three strokes of the lead after day one of the 2014 Johnson & Wales Wildcat Spring Invitational, held at the Cranston Country Club on Friday.  Rhode Island College is the leader with a 312 over the par 71 course that measures 6,493 yards.  Endicott and UMass Dartmouth are just one stroke back with a 313 while host Johnson & Wales and Suffolk are tied for fourth at 314.  Suffolk is also within striking distance after day one after carding a 315 over 18 holes.

Johnson & Wales junior Juan Fernandez (Panama City, Panama) is the individual leader after shooting a 71 for the Wildcats.  Senior Sam Parella (Douglas, Mass.) is currently tied for fifth with a 76 while junior Pat Paulson (Merrimack, N.H.) finished the day in a tie for 24th with an 80 for the Wildcats.

Round two of the 36 hole tournament will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19th.
