Golf Takes Sixth At RIC Spring Invitational

The golf team notched a sixth-place finish at the 2014 Rhode Island College Spring Invitational, hosted at the Valley Country Club this weekend.  The Wildcats posted a 663 (331-332) over the par-72 course that measures 6,458 yards while host Rhode Island College captured the team championship with a team score 632 (320-312) over the 36 hole tournament.

Junior Patrick Paulson (Merrimack, N.H.) finished in a tie for fifth-place for Johnson & Wales, shooting a 157 (78-79) while sophomore Brandon Kwok (Natick, Mass.) notched a tie for 28th-place with a 167 (83-84) for the Wildcats.  Sophomore Jeffrey Piriano (Gloucester, Mass.) carded a 169 (84-85) which was good for a tie for 32nd place while freshman Jon Nelson (Pembroke, Mass.) finished in a tie for 36th place after a 170 (86-84) for JWU.

The Wildcats will return to action on Friday-Saturday, April 11th-12th when they travel to the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club.
