NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team turned the tables on Norwich in the second half to come out with a victory. The Wildcats ran away from the Cades in the final 10 minutes for the 72-56 triumph on Saturday.
Norwich: 9-12, 6-6 GNAC
Johnson & Wales: 14-9, 11-3, GNAC
The Wildcats only shot 31.3 percent in the first half, 18.2 percent from three-point range, to find themselves trailing 33-27 at the break. Ryan Booth made a basket midway through the second half to put Norwich up 49-48. Five different players scored during a 13-4 run and five minutes later the Wildcats were in control, 62-52.
Leading the second-half charge was junior Brian Hogan-Gary as he scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in the final 20 minutes. He added 12 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the year. Randall Ferdinand tied Hogan-Gary with 18 points and pulled in seven boards. Five players reached double figures.
Johnson & Wales wraps up the regular season with a pair of home games, starting Tuesday against Regis at 7:30 p.m.
