Wildcats Come Up Short 82-73 at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Midway through the first half, host Albertus Magnus went on a 10-0 run that was the difference in Tuesday's meeting of the top two teams in the GNAC. The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team had its six-game winning streak snapped with the 82-73 loss.

Of Note:
Randall Ferdinand made a layup at the 12:17 mark of the first half to tie the game at 15-15. Albertus Magnus responded with a 10-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 40-29 halftime lead. The Falcons' lead grew to as many as 18 in the second half and JWU was able to cut it to six, 72-66, with 4:12 to play on a Matt Madoian layup.

All five Johnson & Wales' starters reached double figures, led by Jarell Lawson's 16 points. Ferdinand and Brian Hogan-Gary each pulled in a team-high seven rebounds.

Albertus Magnus had a 49-38 rebounding average and shot 46.3 percent compared to 40.3 percent by JWU. Jahmerikah Green-Younger led all players with 24 points and Jaqhawn Walter produced a 23-point, 19-rebound double-double.
