PROVIDENCE, RI – From the outset of the game, the Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team was in complete control. The Wildcats won their third contest in a row when they defeated Anna Maria, 81-51, on Saturday.

Johnson & Wales started the game on a 13-2 run that was capped by back-to-back basket from Brian Hogan-Gary. The Wildcats shot 52.6 from the field, including 41.7 percent from three-point range, in the first half as they took a 39-17 lead into the locker room.
The Wildcats' pressure defense led to easy baskets as Anna Maria committed 17 turnovers. Johnson & Wales shot 31-of-51 (56.4 percent) including 44 percent behind the arc. The AMCATS had a 38-29 rebounding margin.
Five different Wildcats reached double figures, led by Nate Patenaude's game-high 15 points. Hogan-Gary followed with 12 and just missed a double-double with a team-high eight rebounds. Matt Madoian dished out five rebounds and tossed in 11 points.
Anna Maria's Mike Rapoza had a double-double, scoring a team-high 13 points and snaring a game-best 13 rebounds. Joseph Kwiatkowski followed with nine points off the bench.
The Wildcats are on the road Tuesday for an 8 p.m. contest at Lasell.
