Men's Basketball grabs #2 seed in GNAC Playoffs
The Wildcats nabbed the #2 seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament beginning on Tuesday night. With a 17-8 overall record and 14-4 record in conference, the Wildcats are slated to host the Suffolk Rams at the Harborside Recreation Center on Tuesday night, 7 p.m.
Providence native Lamonte Thomas has paced JWU, and the country, all year with his 29.8 points per game. The junior leads the team with 6.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game on the year. Wildcats senior Darren Faust has 15.4 points per game and leads the team with 2.3 steals and 1.2 blocked shots per contest.
Suffolk comes into the tournament with an 8-17 record, 6-12 in conference play. The Rams are paced by sophomore combination Colin Halpin and Matt Pepdjonovic who share the team lead with 17.1 ppg.
In two meetings this season, the Wildcats are 2-0 against the Rams.
