Season Ends for JWU Field Hockey in 2-0 GNAC Quarterfinal Loss to Simmons
BRIGHTON, Mass – The Johnson & Wales University field hockey team went on the road Friday to face the Simmons Sharks in the GNAC tournament quarterfinals.  Simmons scored a goal in each half to defeat the Wildcats, 2-0.

Of Note:
In chilly conditions, both teams showed up ready to play. The first 24 minutes of the game were scoreless as each team fought for opportunities to convert.
 
In the 25th minute, the Sharks found the back of the net with a goal from Lily D'Anna, assisted by Maggie Fuzak. 
 
JWU had several opportunities to get the equalizer, but couldn't break through. Simmons added an insurance goal with less than three minutes left in the game.
 
The Sharks outshot the Wildcats, 19-5.
 
Johnson & Wales should take a step forward in 2019 as head coach Jessica Zubretsky brings back her top five goal scorers.
