First Place Finish Sends IDA To Nationals

The Wildcat IDA team competed in their final regular season home competition on Saturday and earned top spot at the JWU Equine Center.

Leading the charge for JWU was junior Francesca Edwards (Clinton, Conn.). Edwards picked up a first place finish in First Level while senior rider Danielle Chizauskas (Braintree, Mass.) placed third in the event to end her four year career for the Wildcats. Megan Hendricks (North Haven, Conn.) placed first in the Introductory level while freshman Samantha Burke (Silver Spring, Md.) garnered a second place ribbon in Lower Training rounding out the top Wildcat riders. Junior Ruby Kreilis (Lebanon, N.J.) was the top finisher for JWU in Upper Training earning a fifth place finish.

The Wildcats, national runner-up last year, will head back to Nationals to make a bid for a second National Championship in three years. The competition will be held at the Old Dominion Agricultural Center hosted by Averett University in Danville, Virginia beginning April 12th.
