IHSA Equestrian Opens Season with Fourth-Place Finish

REHOBOTH, Mass. – The 2018-19 season took off Saturday for the Johnson & Wales University IHSA equestrian team. The host Wildcats placed fourth at the JWU Home Show.

Rhode Island won the event with 34 points followed by UMass Dartmouth at 33 points. JWU tied Roger Williams with 24 points.

The Wildcats had five of top-five finishes. Headlining the day was junior Katie Cassidy with her first-place finish in novice flat. Turning in a second-place finish was Isabelle Slaughter in advanced walk-trot-canter.

Senior Hannah Coutu turned in a third-place finish in open flat as did Arrianna Landry in walk trot. Sophomore Jennifer DePietro took fourth in open over fences.

JWU is back in action October 20 when it travels to the Becker show.
