IDA Takes Second at UMaine Show

NEWBURGH, Maine – Even though the Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team came in second over the weekend at the University of Maine, it was still a victory for the Wildcats. Johnson & Wales earned enough points to take over the top spot in the region.

Junior Maggie Dickey earned reserve high point rider with her winning score of 69.844 in first level. Classmate Lindsey Vollinger was fifth at 69.844.

Abby Dwyer turned in a second-place score of 66.304 during training level one. Also getting a second-place ribbon was Allison Bullman with a 67.5 in intro.

JWU also got a top-five finish in intro from Lauren Sirek with her score of 67.186 Katherine Samkavitzwas fourth for in upper training at 64.231 and Samantha Kondej scored a 63.654 to take fifth.

The Wildcats wrap up the fall campaign on November 17 when they travel to the University of New Hampshire show.
