DURHAM, N.H.– The Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team just missed out on its second victory of the year. The Wildcats were edged out by a tenth of a point by host New Hampshire on Sunday at the UNH Equine Center.
Johnson & Wales had seven riders finish in the top five of their event. Maggie Dickey (Cumberland, Maine) posted a score of 64.23 to take second in upper training. Katie Samkavitz finished second, scoring a 66.30 in lower training.
JWU got a third-place finish from Savanna Hoglan in lower training with a 65.43. Lauren Sirek tallied a 64.37 to take third in introductory.
Senior Courtney Broderick took fourth in upper level with a score of 61.92. Also notching a fourth-place finish was Makayla Mopps (Coventry, R.I.) in introductory at 63.43 and Katie Bucholtz recorded a 59.03 in upper training.
JWU takes the week off before hosting its fall home show on October 21 at the JWU Equine Center in Rehoboth, Mass.
