LONG VALLEY, NJ – Every year the Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team is a contender on the national scene. This year was no exception as Nicole Wilbur and Charlotte Karasek competed during the individual competition at the IDA National Championships.
The event was hosted by Centenary College at the Centenary Equine Center.
Wilbur (Greenwich, NY) qualified in the first level division and Karasek (Renton, Wash.) took part in the upper training competition. Overcoming a pair of challenging horses, both riders finished 11th in their respective events.
In addition to the team competition, Johnson & Wales head coach Crystal Taylor was recognized at the event. Taylor was inducted into the IDA Hall of Fame for her 17 years of service.
Led by juniors Wilbur and Karasek, Johnson & Wales should have another strong team in 2017-18.
