JWU Baseball Defeated By Wesleyan 17-6

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Eleven runs in the fifth and sixth innings were too much for the Johnson & Wales University baseball team to overcome on Tuesday. The Wildcats dropped a 17-6 decision at Wesleyan University.

Records:
Wesleyan: 16-8
Johnson & Wales: 16-12

Joe Maracic: 2-3, 1 R
Anthony Roman: 1-3, 2 R, 1 RBI

Of Note:
Trailing 6-1 in the fifth, Anthony Roman got the scoring started with a single to plate Aidan Hagarty. Left fielder Will Fritz followed with a double to score Roman and Joe Maracic. Colby Greenhalgh was hit by a pitch then Kevin Duffy drew a free pass to load the bases. Hagarty came up to the plate for the second time in the inning and was hit by a pitch to score Fritz.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals got 11 runs off starter Josh Mousseau as well as relievers Tom Doran and Kevin Manning to break the game open.
