Lou Parente has been a fixture in Rhode Island golf and the guiding force for the Johnson & Wales University golf programs. The 2018-19 season marks his 13th season heading up the men’s team and fourth with the women’s program.
The GNAC Coach of the Year in 2008, 2009 & 2017, Parente has led the Wildcats to five conference championships as well as NCAA Championship appearances in 2009, 2010, 2018. Coach Parente is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America and served on its Division III Coaches Congress.
He is the President of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association and was their 2015 Gordon McCullough Award recipient for service to New England college golf. A former PGA apprentice professional, Coach Parente competed in the United States Amateur in 1998 and the North & South Amateur in 1999.
Coach Parente currently resides in Charlestown, RI with his wife Kim.
