Lou Parente has been a fixture in Rhode Island golf and the guiding force for the Johnson & Wales golf programs. The 2016-17 season marks his 12th season heading up the men’s team and third with the recently formed women’s program.
Twice named GNAC Coach of the Year in 2008 & 2009, Parente led the Wildcats to four-straight conference championships (2006-09) as well as NCAA Championship appearances in 2009 & 2010. Coach Parente is a member of the Golf Coaches Association of America and served on its Division III Coaches Congress.
He currently sits on the Executive Committee of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association and was their 2015 Gordon McCullough Award recipient for service to New England college golf. A former PGA apprentice professional, Coach Parente competed in the United States Amateur in 1998 and the North & South Amateur in 1999.
Parente currently resides in North Kingstown, RI with his wife Kim and children Kayla and Alex.
