|Title:||Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach|
Kevin Harrington returns for his 6th year as an assistant for the Johnson & Wales Men's Volleyball Program.
Harrington came to Johnson & Wales via Rivier University (class of 08) where he was a setter, libero, and opposite. He was a part of the 2006 team that won the NECVA (North East Collegiate Volleyball Association) Tournament and competed in the Molten Final Four National Championship Tournament (The precursor to the NCAA national championship tournament we hold today).
Harrington, a top level setter, was a two time Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL) state champion (96 and 97) and also a two time RIIL all-state selection (96 and 97). After his high school career, he jumped right into coaching and coached boys high school volleyball at both Hendricken and North Kingstown to good success. Harrington also served a stint as the head coach of North Kingstown girls team during this period.
Harrington then went to Rivier College to play on some of the top teams Rivier has ever assembled. He was a GNAC rookie of the year contender in 2005 and was an essential contributor throughout his fours year with the Raiders.
Upon graduating in 2008, Harrington returned to Rhode Island to coach at the Prout School as well as beginning his tenure with the Johnson & Wales Wildcats. He serves as the setter's coach, as well as the guru to the offense.
Throughout his career, Harrington has worked, and directed, numerous volleyball clinics and camps throughout RI.
He is also an avid bowler and golfer.
