Sophomore Brandon Budlong (Cranston, RI) of the baseball team is the Men's Wildcat Athlete of the Week for the week of April 17.
Friday against Rodger Williams, Budlong helped the Wildcat to victory by only surrendering three runs on three hits. He improved to 3-2 after striking out a career-high nine batters and issuing five walks. This was the second complete game of his career. The Wildcats takes on Salve Regina Tuesday for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
Senior Lydia Knapp (Glens Falls, NY) of the women's lacrosse team is the Women's Wildcat Athlete of the Week for the week of April 17.
Knapp made JWU history after scoring the 200th goal of her career in Wednesday's victory against Simmons. She won seven draw controls to move her into ninth place in NCAA history with 422 career draw controls. Knapp kept the momentum going on Saturday against Emmanuel when she pushed her career total to 299 points, ending the game with three goals and two assists. The Wildcats take on Albertus Magnus Wednesday for a 7p.m contest.
